Altrincham

Here I am Rune
Distance 8.8 miles
Total 2979 Locks  133 Tunnels
Running total mileage 4102.9 miles

Today we are back on the move out of Manchester and heading south. We are back onto waterways that we have travelled in the past, The Bridgewater Canal, and I fully remember travelling the bit we did today through Sale which is absolutely dead straight with not much opportunity for mooring.

Coming out from Manchester the canal follows the Manchester Ship Canal quite closely, passing Pomona Lock which leads down onto the Ship Canal however to go onto the Ship Canal costs a lot in cash and bother so we will be giving it a miss. There are no moorings on there for leisure craft so it would only be for a day's trip which isn't worth the cost of doing so.

We had intended to go as far as Lymm but decided to moor up for the day at the location we stopped for lunch, we aren't on a mission to get anywhere in particular so Lymm can wait until tomorrow.
