Here I am Rune
Distance 11 miles
Total 2905 Locks  134 Tunnels
Running total mileage 4087.4 miles

So now we are back onto CRT waters (just about) having come off the Bridgewater Canal after Preston Brook Tunnel and moored up for the night soon after. Whilst passing the Midland Chandlers at Preston Brook we took the opportunity to stock up with some winter supplies, 6 bags of coal at 10% discount and 2 containers of Elsan for £20. We also got a variety of other boaty stuff necessary for a variety of repairs to be carried out, starting with the leaking tap in the bathroom.

The trip today was quite pleasant in sunshine rather than the strong wind we would have endured had we continued on our way yesterday. It’s interesting that whenever I think of Warrington I tend to think of industrial land and yet what we have been passing through today was almost exclusively rural farmland, other than a Science Park alongside the canal just before we reached Preston Brook.

Tomorrow we have two more tunnels to get through and then refill the water tank at Anderton Services.
