A reasonable day’s cruise has brought us to the Black
Country Museum moorings in time for the boat to be gauged tomorrow to see
whether it is low enough to fit through Dudley Tunnel. Having seen the gauging
device which is just along the canal from us, I am not confident that we will
be low enough. If we are, it will be an interesting trip on Thursday, if we
aren’t then we’ll turn around and head for Netherton Tunnel to get us through
to Hawne Basin and Merry Hill.
The weather has started to warm up a bit and we passed a
whole load of daffodils I bloom so Spring does seem to be with us at the
moment. Only another couple of weeks and the lighter evenings will be back with
us again.
