We got most of the weekend shop at the Sainsbury’s by Womborne Bridge but will need to pick up a couple of items missing tomorrow. 7 Locks today, including the Bratch staircase which is manned by a rather enthusiastic volunteer lock keeper. We normally take such locks quite gently so were a bit surprised when the lockie whipped open the gate paddle as soon as he’d opened the side paddle. Fortunately I was a way back from the top gate otherwise we’d have had water into the front cratch.

 

Moored up at Whitwick for the night, a boat length or so away from where we moored here in 2018 when passing through and visiting Whitwick Manor. The main road to Whitwick Manor is closed at the moment as it is a rather nasty murder crime scene so I would guess the manor itself is closed as well.

Haven’t got any solid plan for tomorrow once we’ve got the rest of the weekend shop, we’ll just have to see how it pans out.
