Getting the rest of the weekend shop at Whitwick was a wetter experience than was forecasted by the Met Office. Once I got back from the shop the decision was made to stay put for the day, having got wet once I wasn’t volunteering to do it again.
With a better forecast for today we set off at about 11.15am so not really much of an early start. Not a lot of boats seem to be on the move on this section of the Staffs & Worcs except for a flotilla of canoes heading back to the Wolverhampton Canoe centre by Oxley Moor Bridge. Stopped for lunch at Autherley Junction and dumped the rubbish and recycling and then headed on towards Gailey once again. About 3.30pm I could see rain clouds circling so decided we had gone far enough and moored for the night just beyond Laches Bridge. Difficult to identify exactly where we are near on the map as we seem to be equidistant from four villages, the closest by a whisker seems to be Shareshill so that will be the header.
Tomorrow it’s be on towards Gailey and beyond.
