Another short day, but at least we are somewhere that isn’t either Gailey or Penkridge. Stopped off when passing through Gailey to top up with water, empty the Elsan and get some diesel so we are pretty much sorted for a while now. Original plan was to go to Calf Heath bridge winding hole but decided it was too much of a faff to turn around there so carried on to Hatherton marina to turn. On teh way back, saw a nicer mooring so here we are until tomorrow.

Still hardly a major trip out but we have now headed down to Gailey for a day or two. Topping up with water tomorrow and possibly diesel on Tuesday (apparently the boatyard aren’t keen to sell on Mondays as it’s a changeover day for them). For a Bank Holiday weekend it wasn’t massively busy.

Almost trying for the record for the shortest distance travelled, but we wanted to remain within walking distance of the town to get a Chinese meal on Saturday night. The current plan for Sunday, since the forecast is good, will be to take a short trip to Gailey which will at least be an hour of so’s cruise. Have taken the opportunity to give the engine a full service so that should see us OK for a while. There was a bit of crud in the fuel filter which was a bit concerning so I’ll have to keep any eye on that.
