By and large I’d say that today went quite well. There were
a lot of locks to do (17) but we got through them at a good pace, completing
them all in about 3½ hours, which is pretty good since they were all set
against us. There was supposed to be another boat coming up the flight but,
when the lockkeepers checked their records, that boat had actually come up the
flight on Monday.
The weather wasn’t quite as hot as forecast but, when doing
that number of locks, it is actually better for it not to be too hot.
Tomorrow we should complete the journey back to Woking where
the intention will be to stay until Sunday when we go back down the Woodham
Flight and back onto the River Wey.
