Not many miles today but a whole load of locks! To be honest it wasn’t too bad, a gent turned up with his own windlass and anti-vandal key and was keen to assist us through the flight, and with 3 of us working the locks, we seemed to fly through them. I offered his some beer for his assistance as he left us but he stated he was teetotal and declined. I got the impression that he just enjoyed the opportunity to work the locks (why else would he have all his own kit for it).

 

As planned we have travelled as far as Autherley Junction for the night, with a quick trip to the nearby Morrisons to stock up. Tomorrow we’ll possibly go as far as Gailey, or possibly not.
