Slightly better effort today having achieved 8.6 miles and
now passed the 800 mile marker. First thing tomorrow we will be onto the Trent
and Mersey Canal which will mean that we have completed the full length of the Coventry
Canal. Interesting point today was that for the first 4 miles we were on the
Birmingham and Fazeley Canal but that reverts to the Coventry Canal again at
Whittington (there is a boundary stone to mark the transition but I didn’t have
my camera handy!). The weather was very accommodating today, black clouds for a
lot of the day but it didn’t drop any rain until we had moored up for the day. Forecast looks OK for tomorrow.
