With a wet and windy day to enjoy, we decided to stay where we were and I used the time to carry out the engine service that was due, so we’ve now changed the oil and filter, the air filter and the fuel filter so that’s another service out of the way for another 250 hours.

Although the wind was supposed to have abated today, the forecasters were wrong and it was blowing a hoolie, but at least the rain kept off until we got moored up for the night. The intention had been to get to Whaley Bridge but when we reached Furness Vale we were advised by other boaters that two trees were down blocking the canal so we have stopped here to wait for CRT contractors to remove them. We can wait around until about Saturday but if they haven’t been removed by then we’ll have to make other plans. The plan for tomorrow hinges on whether the trees are removed or not.
