Well the tree eventually got moved today (well most of it) which enabled us to get to both the Whaley Bridge terminal of the canal (where we emptied the cassette) and then to the Bugworth Basin end where we have moored for the night. The Tesco shop is very convenient to here so we’ve stocked up for the weekend and, after a quick trip around the basin we’ll be on our way back towards Marple ready to go down the Marple flight of locks on Sunday. The weather forecasts aren’t too good over the next few days but, since we’ve booked the passage through Standedge Tunnel for next Friday we will probably have to progress on whatever the weather does (isn’t that what waterproof clothing is for?)
