An easy day’s cruise since we are in no real rush, taking us through Great Hayward junction and onto Tixall Wide. This is probably one of the most pleasant moorings on the system. We completed all of the domestic needs going through Great Hayward Junction so we can just enjoy the ambience of the place for a couple of days. We are moored overlooking Tixall Gatehouse, a Landmark Trust property, yours for 4 days at a cost of about £1400 at this time of year. We have he same view for no cost with the advantage of the fact we can look at the gatehouse, which is an interesting structure, without living in it.

I think probably tomorrow we’ll move onto the area of Bridge 98, about 4 miles ahead as that would be within walking distance of Stafford so I could possibly walk to the leisure centre for  a swim.
