A simple cruise into Stourbridge basin, quick turn around and now we are ready for when we head off back up the Stourbridge and Delph lock flights to Merry Hill, that will then leave an easy cruise back to Hawne Basin.

The day started with one of the few frosts we have had so far this year, it made untying ‘interesting’ with a solid lump of rope to deal with. They still hadn’t thawed much by the time we got to the first lock so my normal strategy of holding the boat in the lock on ropes was made that much more difficult. The weather got a bit warmer during the day and we got to Stourbridge in time to get rid of our fire ash and other recycling at the local household recycling centre.

Either tomorrow or Thursday we’ll head on towards Merry Hill.
