According to plan we took a gentle cruise to Dog in a Doublet Lock to spend the evening. With the sun out and no wind it was pleasant although the river itself is a bit, shall we say, straight. You come around the final bend towards the lock and can see it in the distance, only then do you realise it is still a couple of miles away! On arrival at the mooring there was one woman who was getting herself ready for a bit of wild swimming in the river, it was warm enough that I almost considered a dip myself.
With a good phone signal here and good internet we have caught up with a few phone calls and other social events. Tomorrow back to Peterborough and then probably the following day down onto the middle levels.
