Brandon Creek

Here I am Rune
Distance 7.6 miles

Running total mileage 6,029.0 miles

Back down the River Wissey and onto the main Great Ouse we had another pleasant day’s cruise to the Environment Agency moorings at The Ship public house. Before settign off from Hilgay it was necessary to restock with milk, and I have to say that the butcher/grocer in Hilgay sells the most expensive milk I’ve ever bought, £2.60 for 2 litres, sadly when desperate and with no alternatives, that is what you have to pay.

Dependent upon the weather tomorrow may be another longish sort of day to get down to Brandon Lock since there seems to be an absence of any other moorings on the Little Ouse we have to go the full 13 miles before stopping for lunch. We will probably stay there until at least Saturday, although rain is forecast for Saturday, so might possibly stay slightly longer.
