Fotheringay

Here I am Rune
Distance 7.2  miles
Total 4075 Locks  264 Tunnels
Running total mileage 5929.9 miles

At last the strong winds have abated, that’s the good news, the bad news is that the rain has started. We have travelled as planned as far as Fotheringay, and are now moored below the castle ‘hump’ although the mooring here was, shall we say, challenging. The water point is hard up against the upstream side of the bridge, and now quite badly overgrown. We beat that challenge, eventually, then moved down to the moorings themselves, which are equally overgrown but once again managed to get moored here.

Because of the difficulty getting on and off the boat, we may leave a visit to the castle site until we come back this way on our return. The possible plan for tomorrow will be to go as far as Stibbington where there are supposedly some good moorings.
