Today was wet. That about sums it up! Despite this however it was necessary to move on from last night’s mooring as we were double moored on 24 hour moorings, so we have had to press on up here to Boroughbridge. Yesterday on the river in sunshine it was calm and serene, today in the pouring rain it was wet and tedious but at least we have got here. We now have to hope that this rain starts to reduce over the next few hours since we don’t really want the river rising up very much as it is prone to flooding.

The plan will be to move on to Ripon tomorrow (if we can get out boat to fit through the locks) and then probably return here on Friday to go and visit the Roman Village at Aldsborough on Saturday (it is only open at weekends).
