We didn’t get quite as far as I had hoped today but we have at least reached Burton on Trent (or Horninglow, which is sort of part of Burton. We have replaced the broken mooring line and also got another mooring pin at the local Midland Chandlers but decided against getting fuel as the rate was 78p/128p, I think that Shrobnall Marina which is about a mile down the canal from our current location is cheaper. The only thing about this mooring is that it cannot be describe as quiet, we are about 70 metres from the main A38 so we have a lot of road noise. That isn’t likely to change much until we are out of Burton so it is something we’ll have to live with.
