Another day when the work seemed harder since we were working in hot sunshine. In reality it was a bit of a faff, but not too hard coming up the  Rushall, it took some time however because the first  pound up from the bottom was completely empty, like it was just mud! To fill that we obviously needed to bring water down the flight and obviously as we did that we were taking water from pounds further up the flight. I would guess that if everything had been perfect we’d have gone through the flight in about an hour and forty minutes, with the water problem, it took us about two hours and forty minutes. 

One other factor that slowed us down as well was the long pound between locks 2 and 3 was, as expected, quite shallow. Last time we came this way I ran aground about 3 times so things must have improved since I didn’t run aground at all, although I did get some weed around the propeller but that was just an inconvenience.
