So here we are back at Merry Hill after a fairly easy climb back up the Delph Flight (all locks were set for us). I think the plan is to stay here until Thursday and then back to Hawne Basin. We did pass one of our fellow boaters from Hawne in his boat ‘Pumpkin’ at the bottom lock of Delph, he said he was heading to Stourport.

Running pretty much as planned, started off from Stourbridge basin at about 10.55am this morning and moored up for the day in the Fens Branch at about 2.30pm after completing the Stourbridge flight. It helped that all the locks were already set for us except the 13th where we met a boat coming down. Still worked pretty well for us and with us just having come up the flight, it meant the that the locks were all going to be set for them as well.
The plan is for one night here and then on to Merry Hill for tomorrow night. Whether we go back into Hawne Basin on Wednesday or Thursday is subject to discussion.

As stated yesterday, a fairly short cruise into Stourbridge which then gave us the opportunity to get in the weekend shopping. We were so early done with that, I had the chance to give the engine the full service it has been needing for the last 20 hours or so, so fresh oil and filter, fresh fuel filter, fresh air filter, re-grease the stern gland and greased the rudder bearing. After all that work, it will probably be something else that fails!
We’ll be here for the weekend and then move on up the Stourbridge flight on Monday.
