After a short stay out at Kings Norton we are now back at the top of Tardebigge ready to travel down tomorrow (weather permitting). We had less sunshine today with it being more overcast and for some reason this seems to have brought out all of the biting flies which were a real nuisance as we travelled along today. I was even looking forward to going into the three tunnels on the route, since the flies don’t follow into the tunnels (presumably the bats would eat them!).

The forecast for tomorrow is for an overcast day, which is better than hot sunshine when working a whole load of locks, just as long as the flies aren’t around.
