After using up our 4 day stay in the centre of Birmingham, we’ve had a little ‘cruise’ around, mainly going around the Icknield Port Loop to have a look at the developments there. I was also curious about the turn from the Main Line into the loop at Rotton Park Junction as I’ve seen a couple of trip boats making a pig’s ear of the turn, one hitting the towpath and the other having to reverse back to get around. I can now say, with confidence, that it is a very easy turn and I have no idea of why they made such a meal of it.

We’ve now re-moored in the 14 day mooring area just beyond St Vincent’s Street Bridge and the intention is now to stay here until at least Saturday.
