We didn’t make it as far as Great Hayward, but since we are less than a couple of miles short, I can’t say I’m too concerned. The weather was a whole lot more pleasant today with generally sunshine although, with a wonderful co-incidence, just after we moored for lunch, we had the only shower of the day.
According to the mileposts we are already over half way along the Trent and Mersey canal, now being closer ot Shardlow than we are to Preston Brook, but then since we will be turning off onto the Staffs & Worcester in a couple of miles, its a bit academic.
We’ve sort of re-plotted the route/timing and will now, hopefully, be having the central heating serviced next Tuesday instead of Sunday, that will get us back to Hawne Basin by Friday, in time to spend the weekend there.
