Rather than the outskirts of Lancaster, we are moored almost in the town centre, opposite the sanitary station. The trip was fine, a bit windy to start with but that died down as we went along, aided by the fact that we were in a cutting for quite a while as well.

When we reached Lancaster initially find a mooring wasn’t that easy as it is a bit shallow in places. As you come into Lancaster there seems an ideal mooring location with armco at the side to moor to, sadly it was impossible to get close enough in to moor. The first set of visitor moorings were pretty full so we went onto the sanitary station where there seemed to be further moorings, but it turns out that they are reserved for a trip boat. It was then we noticed a final set of visitor moorings directly opposite, which is where we have finally moored.

I think we may well stay here until Friday (these are 48 hour moorings) just in case we have the same issue coming back, I’d hate to miss out on a trip around Lancaster because we couldn’t find a mooring.
