Having spent a few days checking out Hebden Bridge, today was the day to move on, weather was a bit up and down though, not as good as forecast. I quite like Hebden Bridge but I’m not quite sure it is up the ‘alternative’ standards of Totnes. We took a walk up the hill to Heptonstall which is an interesting village with quite a few of the buildings dating back to the 1500’s, meaning they were there during the English Civil War. It also has some connections to the former Poet Laureate, Ted Hughes as he had a property just outside of the village and his first wife, Sylia Plath is buried there.

The destination today has been Todmorden which seems OK on first impressions but we haven’t checked the place out much at the moment.
