Today’s trip has brought us through Rochdale to pretty much where I was intending to be moored a place called, rather unkindly, Slattocks. It is within travelling distance of Rochdale to be able to get the weekend shop, but far enough out not to be bothered by Friday night drunks (hopefully). We will remain here until Sunday when we will pass down the flight of locks below to then moor up at the River Irk aqueduct on Sunday night which will then be in easy travelling distance Failsworth top lock for Monday morning when we hope to go down with a volunteer lock-keeper and one other boat, which should make the transit a bit easier.
