We stopped a bit short of the moorings I was initially heading for  and walked up to then check them. They were pretty much empty but since the trees haven’t dropped their leaves much yet, the view across the Dee Valley is barely visible. Since the moorings are under trees we decided to stay where we were. More boats were on the move today which makes some locations quite interesting. We crossed the Chirk aqueduct into Wales closely followed by a hire boat which tended to slow both of us down until he dropped back a bit. He’d got the idea when we then went through Chirk Tunnel and held back quite a good way, although it is still a bit slow getting through the tunnel.

 

Tomorrow it’ll be on to Llangollen and hopefully finding a mooring for a couple of days.
