After a bit of a late start (11.30am) we have moved outside of Middlewich to a pleasant mooring with the rather nice name of Bramble Moorings. The original intention was to travel to Anderton to ride out the storm that seems to be heading our way but since it would have been dark before we got there we decided to moor here. Having checked the forecasted wind direction of the oncoming storm it seem that it will be from the south and then the west, so this will mean it will be blowing across the canal to us rather then through the trees behind us, so hopefully any falling trees wont come our way.
Whether we move on tomorrow will rather depend on how strong this wind is, the forecast is for gusts up to 47mph, which whilst manageable would not be particularly pleasant.
