A sedate trip through from Stoke Hammond to a place called
Grove taking in Leighton Buzzard on the way. Since it was such a pleasant day
there were a lot of walkers on the towpath and ‘Gongoozlers’ at the locks but surprisingly
few boats on the move. At Soulbury Locks we were helped through by a volunteer
who told us that only six boats had passed through by the time we went through
(about 11.30am).
Given how fabulous the weather is I am surprised at the lack
of movement.
We are now about a day from the Marsworth Junction where we
will be turning off to head for Aylesbury. The plan was to be there next
weekend but we seem a bit ahead of schedule.
