Finally we are ‘properly’ back on the move today, five locks and five miles, not a strenuous day but a bit more than we’ve done recently. There were actually quite a few boats on the move today, something we haven’t seen much of in the last few weeks. When we started out from Stourport we found ourselves behind a tug and butty at the first lock. Since these are all narrow locks you can only get one boat in at a time so it takes a bit of juggling around to get a tug and butty through the locks. The skipper generously let us past after the first lock, so we then left all of the following locks set for him (empty and gates open) as he came up to help speed him on his way.
Tomorrow I would expect to get back to Stourton, weather permitting.
